Nick Kyrgios V Andy Murray US Open Tennis Betting Tips
Andy Murray has urged fans to give his US Open first round opponent a break after he abused Stan Wawrinka by making unsavory comments about his girlfriend.
Kyrgios is reported to have said “My mate banged your missus” among other crude insults but Murray is trying to take the heat out of what could be a red hot encounter.
Let's hope Kyrgios doesn't start making some derogatory remarks about Kim Sears or there will definitely be fireworks. On second thoughts that might make for some cracking entertainment.
I don't know why Murray is sticking up for the Aussie bad boy because after the dreadful way Kyrgios played at Wimbledon he's not particularly adept at making friends.
Kyrgios is ranked 37 on the ATP tour and aged only 20 he has the game to make the top ten within a couple of years. But his temperament and volatile character mean that he is destined to be a talent unfulfilled unless he reigns it in.
Comparisons with John McEnroe are well wide of the mark. The shameful way in which he gave up the second set to Gasquet at Wimbledon is something “The Brat” would never have considered doing no matter how badly he was losing.
8/1 is on offer if you think Murray is going to self destruct in the first round but really you'd need to double those odds to make them worth seriously considering.
Barring injury Murray will win this game and the best odds of 1/10 at Coral mean it's a prohibitive betting scenario. Betting on Murray to win 3-0 is a more respectable evens with Murray defeating the hot headed Aussie by that score in both the Australian and French Opens.
My money has gone on Federer to win this tournament at 4/1 but another decent bet is for the top three seeds to make the semi finals.
