Denis Istoman is good odds to provide a shock upset.
Here is a nice bet for value – Denis Istoman is a massive 8/1 dog to beat Andy Murray in the third round of the ATP Tour in Brisbane and that is a price that is just begging for action.
Istoman managed to pull off a shock win against native Leyton Hewitt in the second round and you can guess how that went down with the Australian crowd - winnning 7-5 7-5 and setting up his third round clash with an out of sorts Murray.
The 26 year old Istoman is a tour regular with over $1.9 million in prize money – mostly for failng at the first or second round although in 2012 he had his best two runs:
4th Round at Wimbledon.
4th Round at the Indian Wells ATP Masters.
So clearly he is a late developing player and improving greatly. His shock defeat of Hewitt could be his last hurrah at this tournament but if Murray turns up playing below his best then he has a good chance of defeating the Scot (British player) and fighting his way into another fourth round.
Andy Murray will have his thoughts on the Australian open coming up later this month and with this match being a best of three sets Istoman can win if he brings his very best game of his career to the court.
Beating Leyton Hewitt is no mean feat and this match up with Murray means he has nothing to lose and can go for his shots in the knowledge that everyone expects him to get beat anyway.
