Kolo Toure to move to Liverpool?
The big Manchester City Centre back is 32 years old and out of contract at City so he would be an ideal short term replacement for Jamie Carragher, whilst Liverpool wait for some of the rough diamonds in the Academy to have the edges polished off.
Toure is a solid and dependable performer and its only because of the wealth of talent at City and maybe the slightly odd selection policy of the former manager Mancini that his contract has run out.
The defender has family in the North East and so a move to Liverpool would be a good fit:
"I have been here for nearly four years, and two fantastic years when I have been playing a lot and I hear my songs with Yaya and I will miss those things, for me my family is here, my kids are at school and they like the area - but in two months nothing has come from the club and I am thinking about my future definitely,"
"My first choice is this country, as I like English football - that is why I began playing football," he said.
"After Ivory Coast I came here, I don't know any other culture and it is important for me to stay here, I have been here for ten-years."
This transfer seems like a good move for both club and player but unfortunately for us a lot of other people think so too and the odds have shortened to 1/10 which makes it a prohibitive betting opportunity.
The other possibility for this player is a move to Bolton which is also within commuting radius but only a 30-60 minute drive and half the distance of the trek into Liverpool city centre.
There are good odds for this move as well at 33/1 if he can’t agree terms with Liverpool.
Betvictor have the only open book for this player move with all other Premiership clubs at the same price 33/1 apart from one – Norwich which is 16/1.
If the deal to move to Liverpool breaks down then Bolton is his most likely destination and at 33/1 it’s a speculative punt.
