Southampton v Everton Football Betting Tips

Last time out both of these teams scored two goals and let in two with Southampton feeling the unluckier of the teams succumbing to a late equaliser in the dying minutes in their game against Newcastle.

By contrast Everton managed to come from behind twice against newly promoted Watford to earn their point.

Going into this game Everton fans must be feeling slightly nervous as they have been underwhelming in the transfer market this summer and the ongoing John Stones saga has an air of inevitability that the coveted and talented defender will end up moving to Chelsea before deadline day.

Keeping hold of the 21 year old is going to be a challenge and so far Martinez has maintained defiance in the face of several tempting offers from the premier league champions.

The good news for Everton is that Ross Barkley looks like recapturing some of his good form and got himself on the scoresheet last time out. If Everton are going to make a push for the top six then they really need him to stay fit.

The Toffees are really up against the fixture list as after this game they will face Manchester City, Spurs, Chelsea, Swansea and Liverpool followed by Manchester United and Arsenal. There are no easy games in this league? That fixture list is horrendous for Everton who could really do with their beast of a striker Lukaku finding some form and adding to the four goals he has scored in his last 20+ outings.

Southampton will be looking to give jay Rodriguez more minutes on the pitch than the 65 he played against Newcastle and he will be a key player for the Saints this season if he can stay injury free.

Everton last won here in 2002 and have failed to score on their last three visits.

I'm going for a 2-1 win to Southampton. £10 returns £19.09 at Coral
