Newcastle v Chelsea Football Betting Tips 26-09-2015
Liverpool fans who thought Brendan Rodgers was skating on thin ice should spare a thought for Schteve Mclaren.
Rooted to the bottom of the Premiership with a paltry two points along with woeful Sunderland, Newcastle fans are in a dark place right now and dare they come out of the broom cupboard to welcome Chelsea to St James' Park today?
Of course they will. Newcastle fans will be in full voice today trying to conjure up a first home victory of the season against the League Champions. Four defeats in a row in all competitions are an ominous portent though and a loss here would plunge Mclaren into crisis territory.
In contrast to Newcastle, Chelsea have put together a run of three successive victories since their dreadful start to the season and the clouds have lifted from over Jose Mourinho's head.
The fallout of that catastrophic beginning to the season is still being felt though and Eva Carneiro has not returned to her post since being abused by the Special One and that one looks like it is going to run and run for a good few weeks yet.
My dislike for Chelsea seems to intensify with every passing game. If it's not the horrible barbs with which Mourinho hangs his bait on to goad Arsene Wenger then it's either Drogba or Costa feigning things or dragging opponents into unsavoury incidents and just generally being unlikeable.
I'm betting on Chelsea to win because I'll feel a warm glow of satisfaction if Mclaren manages to get something out of this game and I won't mind losing the tenner.
