Kick Off: 13:30 PM Sunday 13th January 2013.
Manchester United V Liverpool is a game always packed full of incident and purpose and so it comes no surprise that referee Howard Webb has been picked to see over this match and he will do his best to keep eleven players on the pitch. Even if that means turning a blind eye to the odd kung fu attack.
So that sets things up nicely for this game. Both teams are not known for an overly physical approach to the game which is just as well since the days of Keane, Souness, Hughes and Mcmahon are well and truly numbered. But both defences are big and powerful and Gerrard will try to dominate the midfield.
Rooney is a big loss for United and they are also two wingers light with both Anderson and Nani having to watch this game from the stands.
Liverpool are bringing close to their strongest squad of the season to Old Trafford stiffened with the recent signing of Daniel Sturridge who showed in his first outing against Mansfield exaclty what he brings to the party although he is unlikely to start being nowhere near match fit according to Brendan Rodgers.
United are the favourites but Liverpool have started scoring goals and finding a vey decent blend between defence and counter attack which will be put under the microscope on Sunday. Agger and Skrtel are a threat at set pieces and Downing is a rejuvenated player just lately.
And of course there is absoutely no doubt that Suarez will be the talking point after the match - for whatever reason! This certainly won't be an easy win for United - unless a player is dismissed which is often the case in this fixture but with Webb in charge it's less likely to happen.
Of course if Robin Van Persie gets the ball to his feet what can you do? Liverpool will have to do their best to stop him.
A draw would be a good result for both teams.
