Henry V or David Brent?"Once more unto the breach, dear friends..."

The last time these two sides met at Anfield Liverpool were getting ready to face Chelsea in the FA Cup final and the 0-1 loss was down to the antipathy of the players who knew they were not going to be starting that prestigious match.

This was Fulham's only win at Anfield in 31 attempts with Liverpool winning 21 and drawing 9 of the previous 30 encounters. Perhaps it says just as much about the summer's horrible decision to loan out Andy Carroll that he was Liverpool's most impressive player on that occasion.

So what do we expect from this game?

Well it's going to be more of exactly the same as it was against Aston Villa. Lots of possession, perhaps 60% or more, a lot of Liverpool attempts on goal, maybe even twenty or more. A clear penalty denied for the home side, several woodwork hitting attempts and Fulham to score with their only shot of the match to win the game and take the three points.

Surely lightning cannot strike twice?

Well it's already done that. If you can't score goals you can't win, Liverpool have proved it this season.

The good news for Liverpool is that the reserve and academy teams are firing on all cylinders and taking teams apart. The bad news is that nearly all of those players are a season or two away from being able to make the step up to the first team and so we are in limbo until January.

This is 5.30 PM kick off broadcast on ESPN so I'll be looking for an unlawful stream for this one, although the Romanian commentary is starting to get on my tits so I might just skip to match of the day instead.

Besides, AFC Telford are playing Luton at home on Saturday so I'll be at the Bucks Head and will miss the start of the game anyway.

When was the last time we went into a home game where the opposition have only ever won once and wondered if we might scrape a draw?

Liverpool must win this game surely?

The game's afoot:

Follow your spirit, and upon this charge

Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
