Liverpool toiled through the first half to produce anything near the football that they are (were) famous for but upped the ante from the start of the second half and ran out deserved winners of an uninspiring contest.

Feeds on Sopcast seem to have temporarily disappeared and we were introduced to a new "torrentfeed" on wiziwig.tv which I wasn't entirely convinced about and so declined to go through with the installation. I put up with the grainy tykes.tv 500kbs which was adequate but no substitution for HD TV that's for sure.

The galling thing about Sky TV is that whilst you pay your £100 plus per month for all the channels and broadband on a Saturday afternoon you are reduced to watching a crappy feed when you know SKY are recording the game anyway but premier league rights won't allow them to show it.

Luckily we had Setanta sports to thank for our live coverage today or else it would have been off to the far reaches of Russia for foreign commentary of a match on home soil.

Of course I realise that the person streaming the match coverage from their far flung bedroom is committing a piracy act and that watching the stream is violating the Premier leagues "modus operandi" but damn it on the days when I can't get to the match – which is 90% of the time - I want to feel as close to the action as I can.

It is as simple as that.

It costs me in excess of £200 to see a Liverpool home game. Adult and Child combined tickets are a rarity these days and travel and the rest make the rest of it up.

A working mans game? No wonder I watch Telford AFC most weeks.

Those supporting London clubs must be seriously contemplating their lifestyle and beginning to wonder what else they would do with a free Saturday afternoon.

3-0 was the scoreline and once again we were treated to the brilliance of Luis Suarez. His emphatic finishes are starting to become more regular than the frustrating misses and I'm beginning to believe that it is only because the guy consistently gets himself into so many good positions that you wonder why he doesn't do better.

His second finish was amazing. Taking the ball from well behind his body position I fully expected to see the ball cannon off a defender but seeing it hit the roof of the net made you realise how talented this guy is. Even Van Persie would have struggled with this chance.

The only reason I'm not giving him the man of the match award is because Jose Enrique had an absolute peach of a game which included scoring his first goal for the club.

Gone are the dark days of the back end of last season when he was seriously struggling for form and it was starting to look like the beginning of the end. Suddenly since his return he is full of energy and running like a recharged Duracell. How did that happen?

Pepe Reina continues to dice with disaster. Eventually it will end in absolute purgatory. His distribution is great but I would rather keeping Brad Jones in goal. What has he done wrong to be dropped?

Of the rest: Sterling was once again pivotal to the action although his propensity to begin dwelling on the ball has to be something that Rodgers will look to nip in the bud very quickly, Gerrard was energetic in midfield and closed down like the old days.

Agger and Skrtel are the most formidable defensive pairing in the Premiership when they are on their game and that gives the wide players more confidence to move forward. Johnson and Enrique had the right side on toast.

A most welcome second home win of the season. Seven Premier League games Undefeated.

This is the moment when the ship begins to right itself. When the cuddly little lion begins to find its claws and begins to scratch.

The "wine for my men, we ride at dawn" speeches may have been very David Brent "esque" for the cameras in the "We are Liverpool" series, but I have no doubt that this manager knows what he wants.

Any human being that can put a self portrait canvas on their wall in full view is either full of themselves or full of shit. If it's the latter he would have been found out by now.
