Everton v Manchester City Football Betting Tips 4PM 23/08/2015
Everton are the next team to try and derail the Manchester City juggernaut as it has set off at an alarming speed towards the Premiership summit.
Six goals scored, none conceded and the scalp of last seasons Premiership champions to boot, City are already looking like the team most likely.
Everton are grimly holding on to one of the best Premier League defensive players – John Stones in the face of ever increasing bids from Chelsea. £30 million at the last count. If Everton can hold on to their best players then they have a great chance of making a Champions league spot.
Ross Barkley and Lukaku are both such players. Lukaku is a beast of a player that was a right handful whenever he played for West Bromwich against Liverpool and if he can consistently turn in those kind of performances then he is a 20 goal a season player. No wonder so many people have him in their fantasy league team.
Defensively Everton are very solid with John Stones, Jagielka and Coleman forming a strong partnership and in midfield Barkley and England regular Gareth Barry can exert excellent control of the game.
It is no coincidence that Manchester City have found top form along with their most influential player.
Yaya Toure is a real force to be reckoned with when he is on the top of his game and David Silva has purred along sublimely in tandem. They have both excelled in the last two games and Everton must be hoping they don't hit the peaks again in this game.
Everton have kept six clean sheets in their last ten home games.
Manchester City have won only three of eighteen visits to Goodison Park
Martinez has won only two points against City as a manager (W0 D2 L10)
I think Everton will do well to hold City to a draw here but they definitely have the tools to do it. If Manchester City win it will be the first time since 1912 they have won nine Premier League games in a row.
