Aston Villa v Birmingham City Football Betting Tips 22-09-2015
Aston Villa have home advantage in what is always a spiteful encounter between the two Birmingham sides and there is almost always a sending off and fireworks in these games.
They meet for the first time since 2011 when Birmingham were relegated from the Premier League and the Birmingham manager has assured fans he will be picking his strongest side for the encounter tonight.
Villa have taken one point from their five Premier league games since the opening day of the season and thier fans will be looking for a good cup run to dispel the doom and gloom.
Aston Villa Manager Tim Sherwood:
"It's going to be intense but I've no doubt that we've got the players who can handle it and the ones I think can handle it will be on the pitch.
"I've been telling the players it's not just a normal game. It means such a lot to the fans. It's going to be blood and thunder but I know we'll need 11 men on the pitch."
Birmingham Manager Gary Rowett:
"We're in a really good place. We're flying high in the league, we've only lost one game this season. We've got everything to look forward to. There's no pressure on us.
"Where Villa are in the league, where they are with their season, there's more pressure on them to win, so we can go there a little bit freer."
The hatred is so fierce in these games that normally mentally sane grown adults lose the plot and descend into the madness of a deranged football fan. There is always trouble when these two meet and the police have upped their presence for tonights game.
I'm going for a Birmingham win tonight and the 2,800 Brum fans that are attending the game will be going home deliriously happy.
