Domestic football is back this weekend after the international break, which is great news if you like an accumulator bet. The international games are always tough to predict, as I found out with my tips last over the weekend.
Just two teams from the six predicted managed a win – but I am confident of some success this weekend with the games being slightly easier to predicted and being able to get much better value.
The both teams to score bet really let us down as well, with again just two of the matches coming in. But, that is just the way it works sometimes.
I very nearly made a handy £75.20 during mid-week though in what was a 13-fold accumulator which was for many of the odds-on favourites to win. Guess what one team let me down though? Yes, England. Let's see if I can go one better this time out.
The first bet I am going to look at is a six-fold across all of the top four divisions on Saturday afternoon.
I am going to go for six teams that are all in good form and currently are in and around the top of their respective tables.
The big teams in the Premier League are in action on Saturday due to the Champions League next week and Manchester United and Chelsea both winning looks to be a good bet, along with these other selections:
Manchester United v Wigan Athletic – Manchester United @ 2/7
Queens Park Rangers v Chelsea – Chelsea @ 20/23
Barnsley v Blackpool -Blackpool @ 21/20
Nottingham Forest v Birmingham City – Nottingham Forest @ 6/5
Tranmere Rovers v Coventry City – Tranmere Rovers @ 11/10
Gillingham v Bristol Rovers – Gillingham @ 4/5
A £2 bet on these six sides would return £81.99, so is certainly a fantastic bit of value as each of these teams go into their games as the favourite.
As mentioned, they are all in good form at the moment and are looking to build on good starts to the season.
My tip last week was to look at an away team picking up the points and Blackpool and Chelsea have both been good on the road so far this campaign.
The second bet for this weekend will be just across the Premier League and Championship and we are going for big money in this one.
A nine-fold accumulator is what I am going for and it is all about picking a couple of outsiders to win the big money. This is how it looks:
Arsenal v Southampton – Arsenal @ 4/11
Fulham v West Bromwich Albion – Draw @ 5/2
Aston Villa v Swansea – Aston Villa @ 7/5
Stoke City v Manchester City – Manchester City @ 3/4
Hull City v Millwall – Hull City @ 23/20
Bolton Wanderers v Watford – Bolton Wanderers @ 10/11
Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers – Blackburn Rovers @ 8/5
Huddersfield Town v Derby County – Huddersfield Town @ 11/8
Put £1 on this one and you are looking at a return of £508.17 so it would certainly be a big win.
The risk in this one could be Aston Villa taking all three points against Swansea as the two teams have had contrasting starts in the Premier League. However, after Villa's impressive performance at Newcastle last time out – expect them to get their first win of the campaign.
Accumulator Tip #3 – Don't bet on the team you support. As I found out during the week, it never works out when you bet on a game that means something to you! Focus on the ones you are not too bothered about.
