It is that time of the week again. It is time to look ahead to the weekend's action and decide on which football accumulators to put on.
In the first instalment of this section last week, I mentioned that we would look back at how close my accumulators where. Well, although it might hurt me a little bit, let's do that to begin with.
The first accumulator was a big one. Returns of over £7,000 meant that I was hedging my bets with ten games across five leagues.
In the end, I predicted five results correctly, so was a little way off. These things happen and there is no doubt that my hopes were killed fairly early on as Everton stormed to a 3-0 lead at Aston Villa.
I actually had more success in the lower leagues, so will be taking this into consideration this week.
As for my other accumulator from last week, this was a smaller one and I was only one result off. With four results predicted, only Manchester City – who were held to a draw at Liverpool – let down.
You live and learn I suppose and the unpredictably of football in this country makes it all the more entertaining. Anyway, onto this week....
First of all, I am going to go for a six fold accumulator covering the Championship, League One and League Two – two matches per division.
Burnley v Brighton – Burnley @ 7/5
Nottingham Forest v Charlton – Draw at 5/2
Crawley Town v Leyton Orient – Crawley at 7/10
Portsmouth v Oldham – Portsmouth @ 11/10
Rotherham v Bradford – Bradford @ 15/4
Fleetwood v Aldershot – Fleetwood @ 31/40
A stake of £2 for this one brings in winnings of £505.67, so it is still a figure worth winning. The biggest risk is perhaps Bradford City at Rotherham, but they are going well so far and away wins are always good to get your potential winnings up.
For the second one this week, I'm going for four matches again. As discussed, I was only one away last week – so let's go for it again.
Tottenham v Norwich City – Tottenham @ 4/11
Swansea v Sunderland – Sunderland @ 13/5
Leicester City v Blackpool – Leicester @ 6/5
Birmingham v Peterborough – Birmingham @ 11/20
A £2 stake on this one brings me £33.49, a nice little fund for my betting over the next few weekends. Let's hope I go one better than last week.
Looking specifically at this one, Sunderland to beat Swansea is a risk, but after a rest last week, the Black Cats could give Swansea their first defeat. Then, I expect Leicester to bounce back after a hammering in League Cup during the week.
Remember to let us at GYBO know how you are getting on! Best of luck!
Football Accumalator Tip #2 – Make sure you throw in a draw or two....believe it or not, they do happen! Plus, if a team you back to win goes 1-0 down, it is a long way back!
