Well here we are again, the weeks are flying by and it is already time to have a look at the weekend’s fixtures and try to beat the bookies with a football accumulator once more.
Last weekend, I wasn’t far away from my big bet coming in, but unfortunately a few late equalisers cost me. We are close to another winner though and this time out, it is all about the FA Cup fourth round.
As I have said before, there is money to be won in cup competitions, but you MUST take a few risks.
The FA Cup is all about history, upsets and the chance for the underdogs to have their time in the limelight.
Oh, also, placing an accumulator should be added to that list.
Right, the first bet for the weekend is a fourfold and I like the look of this one.
So without chatting about it too much – here it is.
Bolton Wanderers v Everton – Everton @ 8/13
Derby County v Blackburn Rovers – Blackburn Rovers @ 21/10
Middlesbrough v Aldershot – Middlesbrough @ 30/100
Queens Park Rangers v MK Dons – Queens Park Rangers @ 8/13
What do you think? Looks pretty decent doesn’t it? Well, stick £5 on this and you are looking at handy returns of £52.58.
If we break it down at bit, you would expect Everton to put in a professional performance against Bolton and win the match comfortably.
Blackburn turning Derby over at Pride Park is the risk that bumps the odds up for this one, but I have got a good feeling about it. I think it would sum up Blackburn’s season, can’t buy a win in the Championship (which the Venky’s have probably tried to do), but can go to a tough ground in the cup and pull of a result.
Then, Middlesbrough and QPR both look to be too strong for their opposition, especially as they are at home.
Right, for a bit of an outside bet this weekend, I am going for something a little bit different. The problem with cup games is that the underdogs can be out as high as 20/1 in some cases. It would be great if did win, but it just doesn’t seem worth the money.
So here is something else for this weekend.
Norwich City v Luton Town – Norwich City to win 3-0 @ 15/2
Reading v Sheffield United – Reading to win 2-1 @ 7/1
That’s it, just a simply double that has every chance of coming in. The Odds? Well, if you put £5 on again you will pocket £340.00 on this one, which I see as cracking value.
Both of these teams should win, but I fancy Norwich to do it comfortably and Reading to have a bit of a scare and possibly go a goal down.
Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur looks to be the pick of the games on Sunday and I am going to back Tottenham to edge a thriller by three goals to two at 22/1. Worth a pound or two, right?
Good luck with your FA Cup bets this weekend and let us at GYBO know how you got on!
