It is Thursday afternoon, so that can mean only one thing - it's time to start sinking the beer! – it is time to look ahead to the weekend’s domestic football and place an accumulator or two.
Last weekend I counted myself extremely unlucky that the bet returning £40.84 did not come in due to Mikel Arteta missing a last-minute penalty for Arsenal against Fulham, a game that ended in a 3-3 draw.
What happened to 1-0 to the Arsenal!
However, this time out I will once again pick a few bets that I am confident can come in and hope that bit of luck needed is with me.
As is usual, my first bet will be looking at some of the matches on Saturday and once again I am going for four home teams to win, which is the same as last weekend as it was so close to a winner.
Four Home Bankers
Liverpool v Wigan Athletic – Liverpool @ 9/20
Crystal Palace v Derby County – Crystal Palace @ 21/20
Crawley Town v Walsall – Crawley Town @ 4/6
Sheffield United v Stevenage Borough – Sheffield United @ 20/23
A £5 bet on these four matches will return a return of £46.33, so is very similar to last week’s tip. However, I think this one looks to be even better than last time out. Liverpool seemed to have turned a corner and I expect them to beat Wigan, especially with Luis Suarez in the form he is right now.
Also, Palace are flying and it was tough to ignore such good odds on the league-leaders.
Crawley and Sheffield United are very strong at home and they offer some decent value I think.
Now we move into the big money bet yet again, and this is going to be a seven-fold accumulator with a mixture of games you expect to come in, and then those risks where you make the money.
Newcastle United v Swansea City – Newcastle United @ 10/11
Queens Park Rangers v Southampton – Queens Park Rangers @ 10/11
Huddersfield Town v Brighton & Hove Albion – Huddersfield Town @ 15/8
Peterborough United v Blackburn Rovers – Blackburn Rovers @ 6/4
Portsmouth v Doncaster Rovers – Portsmouth @ 5/4
Swindon Town v Yeovil – Swindon Town @ 4/7
AFC Wimbledon v Aldershot Town – Aldershot Town @ 7/4
£2 on this one would return £504.92 and when you look at the games, it does look to be superb value.
The risks for this one are QPR winning their first match of the season, but this I where I think they will get it. Blackburn also need a win under new manager Henning Berg and I believe they may be stronger away from home under him as there is not quite so much pressure.
Also, Aldershot winning at AFC Wimbledon is another big call, but an away win is certainly on the cards - especially with the home team going up against MK Dons in a couple of weeks in the FA Cup – so they could already be distracted by that.
As it is the North London derby this weekend, I thought why not have a little punt on the correct score from the Emirates Stadium?
One shot wonder!
Good luck in your bets this weekend and don’t forget to let us at GYBO know how you got on!
Accumulator Tip #12 – When it comes to big derby matches – like Arsenal v Tottenham - steer clear of betting on the match result as you never know what will happen. Instead, head into the correct score, number of goals and goalscorer markets.
