Hands up all of you that have picked Manchester United as a home banker in your footy accumulator tomorrow?
There are many reasons why you wouldn’t pick a fixture like this for your accumulator including the fact that the odds are just too short to make it worthwhile, however a good reason would be to make the bread-and-butter for your acca sandwich if you had to make a fivefold accumulator with a moneyback offer if you only got four right.
That’s the deal from Paddy Power this weekend and so I thought I would have a go at a premiership accumulator to try and take advantage of this offer.
I’m skipping the United game for one very good reason, it’s an early kick-off, and that means that if the game ended in a draw or, amazingly, Crystal Palace managed to sneak an away win then the rest of our accumulator would go down in flames and spoil the rest of the afternoon’s entertainment.
We have six fixtures to choose for our fivefold and the game I am omitting is Hull city v Cardiff simply because I don’t have a fixed view on either club.
As it happens’ my cousin works for Cardiff as opposition researcher so this should be a nailed on away win. Good luck Alan!
And so to the fixtures:
Aston Villa take on Newcastle United and how on earth Mike Ashley managed to make millions from his sports direct chain is beyond me. The service is appalling if indeed you can find anyone to serve you, and the appointment of Joe Kinnear as director of football is strange to say the least.
By contrast Villa are making all the right moves and I’m going for a home win.
I’m also backing Tottenham to beat Norwich for the second home win of the day.
Our draw comes in the Fulham v West Brom game – two evenly matched sides who could quite possibly see out a nil nil draw.
Arsenal and Manchester city are both hot favourites for away wins and those two games make up our fivefold.
Place this fivefold at Paddy Power and if you get four results out of five you’ll get your bet refunded.
